The Canadian Hispanic Business Awards (CHBA) shine a spotlight on innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in the Ontario Hispanic business community.

Launched in 2009, by the Toronto Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the CHBA awards publicly recognize hundreds of company success stories from all sectors in the community, holding them up as an inspiration to others to excel. 

PURPOSE

  • To promote entrepreneurship in the Hispanic Canadian Community.
  • To recognize the contribution of Hispanic Canadian entrepreneurs.
  • To promote social responsibility in entrepreneurs.

AWARD CATEGORIES

  • Business Man of the Year: Honours an individual who demonstrates outstanding achievement in all categories; entrepreneurialism, innovation, philanthropy, and community involvement.
  • Business Woman of the Year: Honours an individual who demonstrates outstanding achievement in all categories; entrepreneurialism, innovation, philanthropy, and community involvement.
  • Start-Up Business of the Year: Honours a Hispanic owned business that demonstrates outstanding and sustained growth since its early years. The company must be less than 5 years old.
  • Franchise Person of the Year: Honours a Franchise business (franchisor or franchisee) who demonstrates an outstanding implementation or expansion in Toronto.
  • International Business of the Year: Honours an international business that demonstrates deep involvement with the Hispanic community through employment, services, or social development.
  • Canadian Business of the Year: Honours a Hispanic or Canadian business that demonstrates deep involvement with the Hispanic community through employment, services, or social development.
  • Media Advocate of the Year: Honours the leadership of a Hispanic media company in Radio, Internet, or Printed Media. The company must have contributed to elevating the profile of the Hispanic community.

ELIGIBILITY

  • A nominee’s business must be registered in Ontario and has an operating office in the Province of Ontario. (Except for the Best International Business)
  • A nominee must be of Hispanic origin and plays a major role in the management of the business operation.
  • A nominee or his/her business must not be the subject of any legal investigation.

NOMINATION GUIDELINES 

Nominations must be made by a third party, following the submission guidelines listed below. Where appropriate, the submission may be supplemented by company literature, media coverage and other pertinent data. Submissions containing false information will automatically disqualify the entry.
